A heartwarming story of resilience and compassion has emerged from Rajnagar, where a two-year-old boy has made a remarkable recovery from severe burn injuries, thanks to the timely intervention of Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb. The child, who had fallen into a hot cauldron, has returned to the playground, bringing relief and gratitude to his impoverished family.
The incident occurred on April 7 in Madhyam Krishnapur, Radhanagar Gram Panchayat, within the Rajnagar constituency. The young boy, while playing, accidentally fell into a hot cauldron, suffering severe burns on his face and body. His father, Arjun Tripura, a day labourer struggling to support his family of five, was left devastated and helpless as his child writhed in pain at the Santir Bazar District Hospital.
The family's plight caught the attention of former Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb. Moved by the distressing news, Deb swiftly dispatched a representative to the hospital with a financial aid of Rs 50,000. This timely assistance enabled the child's immediate treatment, providing a crucial lifeline for the family.
"Thanks to Biplab Kumar Deb's humanitarian assistance, my child is now fully recovered and enjoying playing again," said Arjun Tripura. "A portion of the Rs 50,000 remains unused and is still with me."
Inspired by the compassion shown by Deb, Arjun Tripura decided to make a significant and forward-thinking move. He invested the remaining funds in planting rubber saplings, with the support of his fellow villagers, to secure a better future for his child. This initiative not only reflects Arjun's gratitude but also his determination to improve his family's circumstances.
This isn't the first instance of Biplab Kumar Deb's benevolence. Recently, he facilitated the provision of an artificial leg for a person who had lost his limb in a road accident. Deb's continuous efforts to support those in need have not gone unnoticed.
"Deb has been setting one example after another of standing by the people through various social and humanitarian works. The family received a ray of hope with his help," commented Arjun Tripura’s neighbors.
