Three-Day NCC Conference Begins in Agartala, Guv Stresses Strengthening Cadet Corps in NER
A three-day biennial conference of NCC (National Cadet Corps) Group Commanders from across the North East region commenced in Agartala on Wednesday. The conference was inaugurated by the Governor of Tripura, Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, at the 21 Sector Assam Rifles Auditorium. The event is being held to strengthen the coordination and strategic focus of the NCC in the region, with a particular emphasis on fostering youth leadership and national service.
In his inaugural address, Governor Reddy Nallu underscored the importance of the NCC in shaping the future of the nation's youth, particularly in the North East. He emphasized the role of such conferences in enhancing the effectiveness of the NCC’s mission in the region.
According to the Governor, the State Government is committed to extending all necessary support to the NCC and its activities, ensuring that the organization can continue its critical role in youth development.
The Governor highlighted the multifaceted benefits of joining the NCC, noting that it not only opens doors to careers in defense but also offers broader opportunities in education and employment. He stressed that participation in the NCC boosts self-confidence and instills essential values such as discipline, responsibility, and patriotism among young cadets.
Besides, the Governor encouraged the cadets to actively prepare themselves to combat various social evils, urging them to be at the forefront of nation-building efforts.
Major General Gagan Deep, Additional Director General of NCC for the North East, also addressed the gathering. He commended the exemplary performance of the NCC cadets from Tripura, acknowledging their dedication to both state and national service.
The conference saw the attendance of NCC Group Commanders from all the North Eastern states, who discussed strategic initiatives aimed at improving the scope and reach of NCC training in the region.
Earlier in the program, Governor Reddy Nallu received a ceremonial salute from the NCC cadets and participated in a meeting with the commanders to discuss future plans for the organization.
