Towards Economic Security: Tripura Finance Minister urges inclusion in PM flagship schemes

Finance Minister of Tripura Pranajit Singha Roy addressed a gathering today on June 5, stressing the crucial need to ensure the benefits of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's flagship schemes reach their intended beneficiaries within the state.

Speaking at an awareness programme held at Muktadhara Auditorium in Agartala, Singha Roy advocated for the transformative potential of these schemes in uplifting the socio-economic status of disadvantaged individuals, including labourers and farmers across the nation.

In his address, Singha Roy reiterated his firm commitment to improving the lives of economically backward sections of society in the State. He underscored the significance of raising awareness about the Prime Minister's flagship programmes to empower individuals and minimize their reliance on non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) for their savings.

Singha Roy specifically highlighted the positive impact of prominent PM flagship schemes, such as Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, and Atal Pension Yojana.

The primary objective of the awareness campaign, according to Singha Roy, is to ensure economically backward people in the state are well-informed about the substantial benefits provided by the PM flagship schemes.

By equipping them with knowledge about the various initiatives, Singha Roy aims to empower individuals to make informed decisions and actively participate in these schemes, thereby improving their overall socio-economic well-being.

Singha Roy's vision aligns closely with the government's commitment to fostering economic security and prosperity among its citizens. By disseminating information and creating awareness, the government aims to bridge the gap between the financially vulnerable sections of society and the resources available to them through the PM flagship schemes.

Highlighting the existing network of 3,000 small savings agents across the state, Singha Roy announced plans for further expansion. Additional agents will be appointed at various sub-divisions and district levels to enhance the accessibility and reach of these schemes. The goal is to ensure that individuals from all corners of the state have equal opportunities to benefit from the financial assistance and security provided by the PM flagship schemes and small savings programmes.

The finance minister's address highlighted the government's untiring commitment to uplifting the socio-economic conditions of its people. By delivering the advantages of the Prime Minister's flagship initiatives to genuine beneficiaries, the state aims to empower its citizens and create a more inclusive and prosperous society.

The awareness event aimed at disseminating information about available government schemes relating to finance as well as it also highlighted the risks associated with purchasing financial products from the NBFCs. In fact, many people of the State lost their hard-earned money after investing in Chit funds.
