Tripura CM attends National Dentist Day programme

Along with other parts of the country, national Dentist Day was also celebrated in Tripura on Friday.

 

The state-level programme was held at Prajna Bhavan where Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb was present. Deb also paid homage to Dr. Rafiuddin Ahmed, who founded the first dental college of India.

 

As part of the celebration, the 20th Annual Dental Conference of Indian Dental Association’s Tripura chapter was held.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Deb reiterated State Government’s commitment for speedy completion of tasks. In this connection, Deb said the government has decided to recruit 35 Dentists in the State. Besides, he also underscored the need to be acquainted with the emerging situations as well as the long term planning to ensure a better future for the next generations.  

  

In the programme, many of the dentists from different districts were felicitated for their contributions during Covid pandemic.

 

Principal Secretary (Health) J.K. Sinha, president of IDA Tripura- Dr. Manik Saha, NHM Tripura Mission Director- Dr. Siddharth Shiv Jailswal, Director of Family Welfare and Preventive Medicine department- Dr. Radha Debbarma.
