With the joint initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare, Government of India and Government of Tripura, it has been decided to conduct the 11th Agricultural Census 2021-22 in the State.
The main objective of the Agricultural Census is to determine the blueprint of agricultural development in future. The Agricultural Census will be completed in 3 phases. The agricultural year for the first phase starts on July 1, 2021 till June 30, 2022. The agricultural year for the second phase starts on July 1, 2023 till June 30, 2024. The agricultural year for the third phase starts from July 1, 2023 till June 30, 2024.
The Agricultural Census was launched in the country on July 28, 2022 at Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi.
In a press release, Tripura Agricultural Census Commissioner said data of Agricultural Census will be collected from total 897 revenue villages through mobile/tablet. The first phase of Agricultural Census of collecting data will be completed by December 31 with the help of district administration, sub-division administration, Finance and Statistics department, Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare department, Horticulture & Soil Conservation department and under supervision of Revenue department, Government of Tripura.
Data collectors will visit door to door and will collect household related information through digitized land record using apps / software in hand-held device. The people of revenue villages are being urged to produce necessary information to government employees of all levels appointed under Agricultural Census. Cooperation of all has been sought for the success of Agricultural Census.
