In an effort to bolster the quality of education and advance the overall development of the state's education system, Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha expressed the Tripura government's dedication during a recent event.
The event took place on Friday at Umakanta Academy School in Agartala, where the Chief Minister inaugurated 752 smart classrooms in government schools.
During the inauguration, Chief Minister Dr. Saha emphasized the government's commitment to the comprehensive development in the education infrastructure. He asserted that education, health, and agriculture are among the top priority areas for the current state government.
Dr. Saha highlighted that the government continually works on new initiatives and plans to enhance school-level education and provide value-based, high-quality education to children.
The introduction of smart classrooms marks a significant digital advancement and is expected to play a vital role in enhancing students' educational experiences.
Dr. Saha stressed that the primary objective of implementing smart classes is to increase students' interest in education and facilitate an engaging learning environment.
Under the Vidyajyoti scheme, 100 schools in the state have already been included, and the government plans to add an additional 25 schools to the program.
Dr. Saha emphasized that the government is taking proactive steps to provide quality education and ensure high standards in all aspects of learning.
Regarding the smart classroom initiative, Chief Minister Dr. Saha revealed that the central government has sanctioned 812 smart classrooms for the financial years 2021-22 and 2022-23. Out of these, 752 smart classrooms were inaugurated on the occasion.
These smart classrooms have been implemented in 744 schools at the Secondary and Higher Secondary levels, as well as in 8 primary schools. Each smart class is estimated to cost around Rs 2.78 lakh. The main goal behind these smart classrooms is to ignite students' interest in studies, which highlights the importance of keeping teachers up-to-date with the latest advancements in education to better engage their students.
Additionally, Chief Minister Dr. Saha informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's HIRA model has been introduced in the state. This initiative aims to bring the light of education to every corner, from villages to cities, and the central and state governments are collaborating to achieve this goal.
