The apt environment for setting up industry prevailing in the state has to be properly made use of. The Industry & Commerce department must take plans towards increasing the export of goods produced in the state for economic development, said Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha at the 5th Foundation Day of Tripura Industry Owners Association organized at Bodhjungnagar Industrial Complex on Friday.
The Chief Minister emphasized maintaining a peaceful atmosphere for the development and expansion of industries in the state. He said, national and international investors will be eager to set up industry in the state only when there is a conducive environment for it. Prior to the inaugural programme, the Chief Minister and other dignitaries visited blood donation camp organized by Tripura Industry Owners Association and Covid-19 Booster Doze Centre. Chairman of Tripura Industrial Development Corporation Tinku roy, Director of Industry & Commerce department Swapna Debnath, Chairman of Tripura Tea Development Corporation Santosh Saha, Bangladesh Assistant High Commissioner based in Agartala Arif Mohammad and General Secretary of Tripura Industry Owners Association Pran Gopal Saha.
The Chief Minister also said, different infrastructural development including transportation has been developed to set up industry in the state. As a result, industrial investors from outside the state are now interested in setting up industries in the state. The state government is also providing different kinds of services and facilities to them. The previous government could not take any step toward industrial development during its reign. Instead, industries have been shoved towards destruction in the name of protests.
The present government, however, is working following the main mantra of ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas’. The Chief Minister urged the Bangladesh Assistant High Commissioner to take initiative towards increasing the export of state products to Bangladesh. The Chief Minister said, the locals also have to be kept side by side in the development of Bodhjungnagar Industrial Complex. He lauded Tripura Industry Owners Association for organizing different social programs.
Speaker of Tripura Legislative Assembly Ratan Chakraborty in the inaugural programme said, the state government after taking over has taken different steps towards industrial development in Bodhjungnagar. A few meetings have also been held with industrial investors for industrial development. Besides, the initiative has been taken to address the issues raised in those meetings. TIDC Chairman Tinku Roy said, the present government is an industry-friendly government. Quite a few industrial units have been set up in the 4.5 years of the government.
The Chief Minister and other dignitaries handed over souvenirs, certificates and cheques in the form of felicitation to the sons and daughters of those employed in Bodhjungnagar Industrial Complex who have achieved success in their Secondary and Higher Secondary examinations.
