Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha expressed his confidence in securing triumph in the by-polls in both Dhanpur and Boxanagar Assembly Constituencies. He said there is a huge discontent among the public towards the CPIM and Congress for their disruptive conduct within the Assembly in recently held Budget Session.
Addressing a gathering in Sonamura, after Thursday BJP candidates, Tofajjal Husain of Boxanagar and Bindu Debnath of Dhanpur Assembly constituencies, formally submitted their nomination papers for the upcoming September 5 by-polls on Thursday, Dr. Saha underscored the BJP's steadfast dedication to the principles encapsulated in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visionary slogan, 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas' (Together with All, Development for All). He reiterated the party's commitment to the advancement and welfare of the people of Tripura.
Dr. Saha, while pointing the recent happenings in the State Assembly, emphasized the unruly behavior displayed by certain MLAs during the budget session. The Chief Minister affirmed the BJP's firm stance against such disruptive conduct, which has been observed from the CPIM and Congress factions. With conviction, he expressed his belief that the voters of the two constituencies would cast their ballots to ensure a decisive victory for the BJP candidates, eschewing the return of those who demonstrated such behavior.
Dr. Saha took the opportunity to reflect on the 2023 Assembly elections, specifically addressing the alliance formed between the Congress and CPIM. He questioned the rationale behind the alliance, particularly in light of the historical actions attributed to the CPIM, which included violence and turmoil.
Dr. Saha questioned the ethical basis of such a partnership and highlighted that the Congress had not provided a satisfactory explanation for their association with the CPIM.
Further amplifying the BJP's commitment to development, the Chief Minister commended the initiatives undertaken by Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP National President JP Nadda. He praised the "HIRA" model introduced by the Prime Minister and reaffirmed the party's dedication to translating promises into action.
Dr. Saha pointed out the party's adherence to truth and action, asserting that the BJP's deeds align with their words.
The event was attended by several Ministers and State level leaders including BJP State president Rajib Bhattacharya, Former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, Union Minister of State Pratima Bhoumik, Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Food Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Social Welfare Minister Tinku Roy, AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder, and BJP General Secretary Papia Datta.
