Congress MLA of Tripura, Sudip Roy Barman flayed the BJP government over Health, Industry and job related issues. He also blamed the BJP government for corruption. He also talked about forming an alliance against BJP in upcoming Assembly Polls.
Roy Barman held a party meeting at Marachhera under Surma Assembly Constituency in Dhalai district on Thursday in support of Bharat Jodo movement in Tripura.
Addressing the party supporters, he alleged, health care services are being affected in Tripura owing to lack of doctors and medical staffs in hospitals and health centers. Several machines used in hospitals, in particular in Cancer Hospital in Agartala, are not working because of lack of maintenance. Patients are deprived of health care services – and only a few can afford to go to outside for treatment.
He also fired verbal salvos at the ruling party on the issue of industrialization and jobs. Roy Barman said, the office of the Tripura Industrial Development Corporation Ltd (TIDC) is pad locked due to corruption. A few of the industrial units which came to Tripura are now leaving the State. The BJP leaders and Ministers made tall claims of industrialization and creation of jobs – but these have proved futile.
Youths are now disgruntled and people are burdened with rising prices and GST on essential products. Congress party is the only alternative which can free people of BJP’s clutches, he commented.
Surma is one of the Assembly Constituencies which went to by-polls in June last. Even as BJP candidate from this constituency, Tipra Motha pushed CPIM down and secured the second position. Congress did not field candidate in the by-polls, instead talked to support Tipra Motha.
In today’s public meeting, Sudip Roy Barman indicated Congress is exploring alliance potentiality and possibility with the anti-BJP parties. He, however, did not elaborate which party/parties may join hands against BJP in ensuing Assembly Polls.
Roy Barman also raised voice against the Bike Vahini of BJP. He urged the supporters to be united under the Congress flag to bring an end to the menace of bike borne miscreants. He also lambasted the BJP government for corruption, bad condition roads in rural areas and other issues.
Among other AICC leader Szarita Laitphlang, Congress leader Ashish Saha and others were present in today's programme.
