Tripura Government announces recruitment drive for over 2000 posts

The BJP-led Tripura government announced a major recruitment drive as over 2000 posts would be recruited in various departments. The decision was taken in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Thursday.   

Announcing the cabinet decision, State Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said on Friday, The council of ministers on Thursday approved a major recruitment drive for improving manpower in the Education, Rural Development Departments etc, Sushanta Chowdhury said.

Speaking to the reporters at the civil secretariat, Chowdhury said the cabinet approved a proposal for the creation and filling up of 1566 posts of Graduate and undergraduate teachers under the Education department. The figure included 467 undergraduate teachers and 467 Graduate Teachers.

The Teachers Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT) would conduct the recruitment drive, he said adding, the decision aimed to meet the teachers’ shortage in various schools. 

The Minister also said 198 Junior Engineers (Civil) would be recruited through the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC) under the Rural Development Department. The figure included 105 (Degree) and 93 (Diploma).

The cabinet also gave its approval to fill up 112 posts of Special Educator for Vidyajyoti Schools on fixed-pay basis, he said.

In addition, the state cabinet also approved the creation of 151 posts of Warder—137 males and 14 females under the Home (Jail) department, Chowdhury said.
