Tripura Mourns as Renowned Poet and Writer Manas Debbarman passes away at 84

A pall of gloom descended in Tripura as renowned poet and writer Manas Debbarman passed away at the age of 84 at his residence at Krishnanagar in Agartala. 

Debbarman, known for his intellectual faculty and amiable personality, left behind a lasting legacy in the literary and cultural spheres of the state.

Manas-debbarman-tripuraDebbarman, who had been battling age-related ailments, breathed his last on Monday. His mortal remains were consigned to flames at the Battala crematorium later in the evening. 

The news of his demise sent shockwaves through the state, with social media platforms flooded with tributes and condolences.

A prominent figure in Tripura's literary scene, Debbarman was not only a poet and writer but also actively involved in theater and other cultural pursuits.

His contributions to the state's cultural landscape were widely recognized and appreciated. He was also a science lecturer at the MBB College in Agartala.

The news of Debbarman's passing led to heartfelt condolences from political leaders and cultural figures alike.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha expressed his deep sorrow and paid tribute to the departed soul.

Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and other prominent personalities visited Debbarman's residence to offer their last respects.

Dr. Saha was present at the crematorium during the final rites and offered prayers for the eternal peace of Debbarman's soul.

In a condolence message, the Chief Minister highlighted Debbarman's significant contributions to the state as a poet, writer, and social activist.

He also acknowledged Debbarman's valuable service to the state as Chairman of the Tripura Lok Seva Aayog and a member of the UPSC.

MP Biplab Kumar Deb, also expressed his grief over Debbarman's demise and offered condolences to the bereaved family.

Several cultural and literary organizations, including the Tripura Publishers Guild, also mourned Debbarman's passing and offered tributes to his memory.
