Tripura MPs, Biplab Kumar Deb and Kriti Devi Singh, Take Oath in 18th Lok Sabha

Former Tripura Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Biplab Kumar Deb took oath as a member of the 18th Lok Sabha on Tuesday.  Deb represents the Tripura West Constituency. Also, Kriti Devi Singh who won from the East LS constituency, took oath today. Lok Sabha pro-tem speaker and BJP MP Bhartruhari Mahtab administered the oath.

Deb and Singh were part of the remaining MPs who took their oaths today after a total of 262 newly elected MPs, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, did so on Monday, the inaugural session of the 18th Lok Sabha.

I am sincerely grateful for the affection and blessings of the esteemed citizens of the West Tripura Lok Sabha constituency. We are committed to successfully realising the vision of a developed India under the leadership of the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi."

Before taking the oath, he wrote, "I am going to take the oath as a Member of Parliament. This achievement would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of all the workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the immense trust and support of the people of the West Tripura Lok Sabha constituency". 

"I am committed to working with utmost loyalty and dedication for the progress and welfare of the state. My heartfelt gratitude to the people of the West Tripura Lok Sabha constituency, who are like family to me. Jai Hind!"  

Commenting on the emergency period, Deb wrote, "The 'emergency' imposed by Congress on 25 June 1975 had choked the soul of India's democracy. The darkest chapter of politics salute to each voice raised against emergency."
