Tripura News: After ADC victory, Tipra Motha sets eye on winning Assembly Polls

Tipra Motha chairman Pradyot Kishore Debbarma, after winning in ADC, is eyeing on winning in State Assembly with the objective of strengthening voices for Greater Tipraland Demand of the party.

 

He reiterated that his party would not forge an alliance with any party and asserted that reaching the State Assembly with strength would be the target of the party to exert pressure on the Central Government relating to fulfilling its Greater Tipra Land demand.

 

Debbarma attended a district-level programme at Ambassa in Dhalai district on Friday. Among others, CEM Purnachandra Jamatia, EM, Animesh Debbarma, Brishaketu Debbarma who recently joined Motha and leaders of women as well as youth wings of the party were present in the programme. Party sources said, large number of supporters of the party also attended the programme.

 

Speaking in the district-level party programme Motha Chief said, “As far as our demand for Greater Tipra Land is concerned, nothing will be achieved by winning in ADC, we have to reach the state assembly with our demand for Greater Tipra Land. Our voice shall then reach Delhi. We shall not stop until our demands are fulfilled.”

 

The district Level programme was attended by CEM Purnachandra Jamatia, EM, Animesh Debbarma, Brishaketu Debbarma who recently joined Motha and leaders of women as well as youth wings of the party.

 

In this connection, Pradyot Kishore reiterated that Tipra Motha will not forge an alliance with any party but will keep fighting for its sole demand – Greater Tipra Land.

 

He urged for greater unity and exuded confidence that Greater Tipra Land demand would gain momentum in the coming days.

 

Pradyot Kishore Debbarman criticized the BJP-IPFT government over the allocation of funds for TTAADC. He alleged, “The government is not providing us with the adequate funds for the development of ADC. All developmental works have come to a grinding halt, at present.”

 

Continuing his criticism over the funding issue, he said, “Primary education comes under the purview of the ADC – however, the State Government has not released funds for it, so far”. On the celebration of International Day of the World’s Indigenous People, Pradyot Kishore said that it remained ambiguous as to whether the State Government or the ADC administration would organize the programmes. 

 

In reply to a question relating to the existing water crisis at many places in ADC areas, Pradyot Kishore said that providing water facility is the responsibility of the State government, not the ADC administration.
