Tripura News: Artificial Limb manufacturing Co, ALIMCO to set up factory at Sepahijala

The artificial limb manufacturing company, ALIMCO, will set up a product factory at Sepahijala District in Tripura. Land identification process has already been completed, principal secretary of Social Welfare and Social Education department JK Sinha said in Agartala on Friday.

 

He was speaking at a preparatory meeting at Secretariat in Agartala held on upcoming Loan Mela, Job Fair and exhibition by ALIMCO, NHFDC/NBCFDC and NSFDC. Union MoS for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhoumik, Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Santana Chakma, SC Welfare Minister Bhagaban Das, JK Sinha and other concerned officials were present in the meeting.

 

Union MoS Pratima Bhoumik outlined the Government’s thrust for socio-economic development of Divyangas. She said, camps are being conducted in different parts of the State to evaluate the Divyanga people. Bhoumik, however, asked the concerned Officials to organize such camps in a bigger scale and emphasized participation of senior citizens in those camps.

 

Bhoumik also underlined the role of the banks for uplifting the Divyangas and other backward communities by providing loans to them and help them self-reliant.

 

Talking about the steps by the department, JK Sinha said, evaluation process to give various aids and appliances to Divyangas and elderly people is going on in every district. So far, 18,434 UDID were distributed. Besides, the uploading process of the IDs at DDRC is also going on.

 

In this connection, Sinha revealed that land identification work was complete for ALIMCO to set up production factory in the State.

 

“Identification of land in Sepahijala district has been completed for ALIMCO”, he said.

 

Sinha also narrated other steps taken like generating awareness on Niramaya Health Insurance etc for the benefit of such people.
