Earlier, political mercury soared high at Hadrai ADC village after a face-off between BJP-IPFT and TIPRA Motha supporters. However, Police managed to diffuse the tension and brought the situation under control.
At Longthang village, chaos prevailed after BJP-IPFT and TIPRA Motha supporters got involved in heated arguments over monitoring the MNREGA works.
While a group of IPFT supporters claimed that the entire project would be implemented under the supervision of IPFT, TIPRA Motha activists objected the idea.
As both the supporters were adamant and aggressive, works under MNREGA stalled for some time.
Meanwhile, the BDO of Ampi Nagar RD block said, "We organized a meeting with both parties - IPFT and Tipra Motha to prevent occurrence of such conflict over scheme implementation”, the BDO said and added, as per the rule, no party can interfere in government scheme implementation in such a manner. The works are completely monitored by the concerned village panchayat secretary and its GRS."
