Tripura News: Braving Covid situation, Tripura State Co-Operative Bank records growth

Amidst Corona pandemic situation, the Tripura State Co-Operative Bank (SCB) Ltd has registered growth in profits, deposits, and Total business during 2020-21 FY.

 

Besides, the bank is one of the three Cooperative banks in the country that received a Special Commemorative Award from NABARD for overall Banks performance in the field of Agriculture Credit, Micro Finance, Financial Inclusion and Technology Adoption for FY 2020-21.  NABARD has awarded 3 SCBs  - Telangana SCAB, Gujrat SCAB and Tripura SCB. In the North East Region, Tripura SCB is the only bank selected for this award.

Addressing the media in Agartala on Sunday, Chairman of the Tripura SCB Kamal Kanti Sen said, the 38th AGM of the Bank was held today. He detailed the performance of the Bank in 2020-21 and said, the total deposit of the Bank increased to Rs 31.03.70 crore while the Total Business rose to Rs 5335.44 crore. The Net Profit of the Bank increased to 19.67 crore. The CD ratio of the bank stood at 71.90 percent.

 

With the strength of 334 numbers of employees, the Bank has total 12.52 lakh customers. 

 

The number of Social security beneficiaries stands at 1 lakh appr. Besides, the number of MNREGA beneficiaries stands at 5.68 lakhs.

 

The Bank sanctioned Loans under TRLM/NERLP scheme to 4506 SHGs amounting to Rs. 54.13 cr. and Loan sanctioned under MUDRA Loan Scheme to 208 beneficiaries amounting to Rs 62.40 lakh. Total No. JLG Financed- 3466 Groups (17375 Beneficiaries) amounting Rs. 25.04 crore. The number of PM-KISHAN Beneficiaries Financed is 28588 Nos. amounting Rs.17.15 cr.

 

The Chairman of the Bank also mentioned: “No of PACS/LAMPS Financed- 59 (7850 beneficiaries) Amount :- Rs.10.57 cr; PMEGP loan sanctioned during 2020-2021 -- 217 nos amounting Rs.17.59 cr.; SABALAMBAN Loan Sanctioned During 2020-2021 -- 601 nos amounting Rs 23.04 cr.; Street Vendor Loan Sanctioned during 2020-21 -- 207 nos. Amt. Rs. 20.70 lakh”

 

He also mentioned, 1(one) Mobile ATM VAN was inaugurated on August 28, 2021 by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman at Killa, Gomati, Tripura in the presence of the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister of State. 

 

Apart from Commemorative Award, the Chairman said, the bank received a Certificate of Appreciation for outstanding performance on APY from the Chief General Manager, Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority.

 

The Tripura State Co-Operative Bank started its journey on January 21, 1957, with the Agartala Branch and Head Office. The Bank became a Scheduled Bank w.e.f November 2018. The total number of branches at present is 66 including the Head Office.
