Tripura News: Cong, TMC denounce attack on media house

Congress and Trinamool Congress strongly denounced the attack on the media house, Pratibadi Kalam. The media house was attacked on Wednesday afternoon.

Tripura Pradesh Congress demanded intervention of the Governor to stop such vandalism and arson while Trinamool Congress said the attack on media house should be probed and be taken up by the Court.

Addressing a press meet in Agartala on Thursday, Tripura Pradesh Congress Chief Pijush Kanti Biswas condemned the incident. Demanding intervention of the Governor, Biswas said, people voted for BJP to get free from such situation during the Left regime. However, people have become disenchanted within 35 months of BJP’s governance, he alleged.

Criticizing the incumbent government, Biswas said, attack on a media house is an unprecedented incident in the history of Tripura. He expressed deep concern and demanded security arrangements for media house to avert recurrence of such incidents. Biswas also went to Pratibadi Kalam Office today

Meanwhile Bengal based TMC leader Ritabrata Banerjee criticized the role of the government on this issue.

He said that an undeclared emergency was going on in the state under the leadership of Biplab Kumar Deb and the law and order situation had totally collapsed. He said the people would give a befitting reply in the 2023 polls.

The Trinamool Congress brought out a protest rally on Thursday in the city condemning the attack on Pratibadi Kalam office.

Condemning the attack, Sushmita Dev said, the government of Tripura should be ashamed of this. Demanding a probe, she also said, the miscreants, many of whom were carrying BJP flags, should be arrested.

The TMC in its Facebook handle alleged that a party worker from Amarpur was attacked by BJP goons last night.
