Tripura News: Free Ayush-64 ayurvedic medicine distribution started

Free distribution of Ayush-64, an ayurvedic medicine, among Corona patients started in West Tripura District through health centres. It is learnt only a limited number of medicines arrived in Tripura and some organization donated the consignment.  

The distribution started after Ayush Ministry gave clearance for its use among the Covid19 patients, an AIR News Bulletin read on Monday.

Ayush-64 is given to patients with mild or moderate symtoms. Also the medicine is used for asymptomatic Covid patients who are undergoing treatment in Home Isolation. It is given to patients in Home isolation along standard Allopathic medicines.

Distribution of Ayush-64 started in West District recently. The medicine was given to patients residing at Ambedkar Palli, Katasyeola and Sadhu Tilla area under Jogendra Nagar Urban Primary Health Care Centre.

Unakoti recorded 91.43 per cent vaccination among the people aged 45 years and above. District Magistrate and Collector Uttam Kumar Chakma said this on Monday.

Meanwhile, inoculation drive among people of age 18 – 44 years also started in the district from Monday. Vaccination drives were held in the district at Kailashahar RGM and Kumarghat Community Health Centre. The DM also said that a total of 18 persons succumbed to Covid in the District, so far.

Vaccination drive for 18-44 years old persons in Khowai district also started from Monday.  Addressing a press meet, Khowai DM, Smitha Mol, IAS said that inoculation drives were held at Khowai District Hospital and Teliamura sub-divisional Hospital.

Since January last, 14 persons died of Corona in Khowai DistrictJune 13 last, the DM said.

On Vaccination, she said, 39665 persons of age group 45 – 60 years got the first jab while 12834 persons received the second dose in Khowai District.

Among the people of age 60 years and above, 23272 persons received the first dose and 11322 persons got the second dose.
