Purvaudaya, an NGO launched a noble and unique project – ‘Heart of Humanity’ – exactly one year ago with three outlets in Agartala city. Purvaudaya also completed its second year in serving the people of the State with special emphasis on empowering under privileged people.
With a call to ‘let the heart beating continues’, the Heart of Humanity outlets continued to serve the needy people with essentials like food items, clothes, shoes, study materials, toys and chocolates etc free of cost – everyday. Doors of these outlets remain open to all ‘receivers’ and ‘donors’ irrespective of their age, gender, caste and religion.
No matter whether it was Covid induced sombre days of lockdown/curfew or joy of festivities, the Heart of Humanity outlets at Shankar Chowmuhani, Radhanagar and GB Bazar never stopped in serving the underprivileged people.
This unique philanthropic project of Purvaudaya has completed its first year – however, the 1st anniversary celebration was a low key affair due to Covid19 pandemic situation.
Speaking on the occasion of first anniversary, secretary of Purvadudaya, Niti Deb thanked people for co-operating with the organization in running the Heart of Humanity outlets. She said, this is a service to humanity carried out by the people for the people.
To commemorate its first anniversary, cooked and dry food items, fruits and water bottles were distributed from three outlets. At Shankar Chowmuhani outlet, clothes, sanitizers and masks were distributed among the AMC women cleaning staff. Besides, food items were also distributed among the pavement dwellers at Laxminarayan bari and IGM areas.
Heart of Humanity is a unique citizen centric project initiated by Purvaudaya as it is the first of its kind in the country. This initiative has enhanced image of Tripura at the national level as well as it will empower the underprivileged people.
Under the Heart and Humanity project, everyday people of underprivileged section may collect essentials like food, cloth, study materials, toys, chocolates etc. free of cost from the outlets. The initiative is also unique in the sense that both the citizens as well as the Members associated with the initiative contribute and donate food every day in the three outlets without fail.
