Illegal activities: Bru Sangrama Matha office sealed
The administration of the Santirbazar subdivision in the South Tripura district sealed the office of Bru Sangrama Matha at Manpathar in Santirbazar subdivision on charges of conducting illegal activities.
Sub-divisional magistrate of Santirbazar, Abhedananda Vaidya, locked and sealed the head office of Bru Sangrama Matha at Manpathar on Thursday,
Bru Sangrama, an organization of Reang tribes of Tripura, has an office in Manpathar Bazar under the jurisdiction of the Santirbazar subdivision.
For quite some time, reports and complaints of running illegal activities from its office located at Manpathar Bazar were pouring in. To verify the authenticity of the reports, a team from the Santirbazar sub-divisional office led by SDM Abhedananda Vaidya visited the office premises.
After a thorough inspection, the SDM found the allegations against the Bru Sangrama Matha true. The SDM said various necessary documents like birth and death certificates were illegally issued from the office of the Bru Sangrama Matha.
Based on the findings, the office was sealed for an indefinite period.
Burglars hit SDM Office in Dharmanagar
Rampant incidents of theft have become a major headache for the people as well as the administration in Dharmanagar. In yet another burglary, thieves targeted the SDM office of Dharmanagar and decamped successfully with booty.
Burglars barged into the Dharmanagar SDM office and decamped with at least two batteries from the Office. The incident took place on Tuesday when all offices were closed on the occasion of the Eid.
The staff of the SDM Office noticed on Wednesday that the door of the bathroom of the PRTC Section was broken. Later they found that two batteries were missing out of the total nine batteries.
Meanwhile, SDM himself sent the information to Dharmanagar Police Station and called on police for investigation.
