175 Tipra Motha activists quit party, join IPFT

Disillusioned and disgruntled, a group of people quit Tipra Motha and joined IPFT at Kanchanpur subdivision in North Tripura district on Sunday. Led by one Bilendra Reang, a total of 195 voters of 71 families quit the Motha and joined IPFT at Kangrai ADC village under Dasda RD Block in Kanchanpur. In the joining programme, Divisional Committee secretary of IPFT Jiren Reang and other leaders were present.

The new entrants claimed that they were disillusioned at the functioning of Motha. They also alleged high hardness of Motha supporters and their interference are jeopardizing the welfare activities.

Meanwhile, IPFT which received a serious drubbing and failed to win even a single seat in the last ADC Polls, is trying to regain lost grounds in hill areas in Tripura. In a recently held top-level party meeting, IPFT decided to focus on their pet demand ‘Tipraland’ more vigorously and reach the people.
