Tripura News: Media body forms Covid help line committee

In an attempt to help the Covid 2.0 affected media persons including the photojournalists, the Tripura Journalist Union (TJU) has stepped in and formed a committee to run a Covid Help Line.  

The decision was taken in a virtual meeting of the executive committee of TJU. A three-member sub-Committee was formed to extend necessary help to Covid affected photo journalist and media persons.

Speaking in the virtual meeting, the TJU secretary Pranab Sarkar announced the decision and said, “We have formed a three member committee comprising assistant secretaries Abhishek Dey and Ranjan Roy and organizational secretary Santosh Gope. The committee has been formed to assist media persons relating Covid issues including Vaccination. Media persons in need of such help may call on 8837328309. This helpline will remain available on 24X7 basis”.

This service will also help the media persons who have not received Covid jab. “If any Media person, especially from districts and sub-divisions miss the Vaccination drive, they contact in the given phone number and TJU will help them”. Sarkar commented

He also extended sympathy and paid tributes to photojournalists and media persons who succumbed to Covid. He assured that TJU would stand by the side of the media persons in this harsh time.

Sajjad Ali presided over the virtual meeting and members of the executive committee were present.
