Tripura News: Project Pragyan launched with Teacher Orientation Workshop

Pragyan, a flagship project of the ‘Sterlite Edlndia’ foundation has been launched through a teacher orientation workshop at Tripura State Cooperative Union Complex in Agartala on Friday.

 

The training was a part of the continuous effort by the state to improve and implement competency-based teaching in government schools in Tripura.

 

The training was organized with the support of the Samagra Shiksha, Department of Education, Tripura.

 

Pragyan project aims at improving classroom engagement and competence based teaching using technology for classroom delivery and teacher support.

 

Pragyan is currently being implemented in 100 schools from West Tripura and Sepahijala district. In the longer run, the program aims to strengthen the use of Ed-Tech in public education system of the state.

 

The workshop was organized in 2 batches for 200 teachers of the project schools from October 4 to 8 last. The training was conducted through various fun activities and games to make it enjoyable for the teachers.

 

On the second day of the training, the teachers were introduced to the smart classroom model which is being implemented in 100 schools. Training on how to operate smart TVs, how to connect with smart- phones and perform teaching in classrooms through a specifically designed app with Tripura text- book contents was provided to the teachers.

 

Officials from the District Education Office have visited the training and encouraged the participants on behalf of the department. The participants mentioned that such kind of training is very helpful for the teachers and will help them grow as a teacher.
