Tripura Government has decided to provide one financial help of Rs 1 lakh to meritorious but economically backward students of SC, ST, OBC and minority communities for pursuing higher education and vocational courses. Under the Scheme, financial help will be provided to eligible candidates for pursuing 176 disciplines including Technical, agriculture, Fisheries Law etc.

“The Government has taken the decision to ensure meritorious students of the SC, ST, OBC and Minority community do not miss a chance to pursue higher education due to lack of financial capacity. He also said such a scheme is the first-ever initiative in the State. Meanwhile, Jamatia said, post-Metric scholarships will continue to be available like previous years.

The Minister also said candidates will have to apply through the portal between July 20 and August 15, 2021.

He further said, the financial help will be provided to students for studying in State Government recognized schools and colleges. The financial help will be provided in two installments of Rs 50,000 each.
