In view of Corona Pandemic, the Tripura Government a financial package of Rs 579 crore to over the Covid challenges in the State.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said this after laying the foundation stone for 150 LPM oxygen generation plant at Kherengbar Community Health Centre in ADC headquarters Khumwlwng in West Tripura on Thursday.
"The government has decided to announce a financial package of Rs. 579 crore to tackle the Corona pandemic in the state," Deb said. He said that the cost of the establishment of the oxygen plant will be borne by the state government.
Apart from this, the state government will also give 30 crore rupees for the development of health infrastructure and the installation of modern equipment. Not only this, the 50 bedded Kherengbar Community Health Centre will now be 150 bedded. The Chief Minister hoped the oxygen plant will be set up soon.
The Chief Minister in the programme also said that the health of the tribal people is the priority of the government. He enunciated that the present government is working for both urban and rural development. He also said that now people of 18 to 44 years age group can get their vaccine shots in Kherengbar Community Health Centre through spot registration and urged that everyone must follow all the guidelines strictly to tackle the pandemic. He stated that only if we take care of ourselves and our family then we can also work for the welfare of society.
The Chief Minister stressed upon Covid vaccination and said, "Recently 16 lakh 27 thousand people got vaccinated in the state." He also said that the Central government has granted setting up of oxygen plants in 8 districts of the state. A proposal has been sent for setting up 18 more oxygen plants to tackle the need for oxygen during emergencies.
He said, the state has enough amount of oxygen cylinders, oxygen installed beds and necessary medicines. There are more than 3,200 beds, a large number of ICU beds and 126 ventilators for Covid patients. He said that the Covid patients living in home isolation will receive their oximeters from health and ASHA workers and there are helpline numbers available if needed.
The Chief Minister also lauded all those teachers working in war rooms in this Covid situation and he also lauded the clubs and NGOs for contributing towards the fight against covid.
The Chief Minister said, “During the period of curfew, the government has taken initiative to provide financial assistance of Rs. 1000 through direct benefit transfer to 7 lakh poor and needy families. The state government has sanctioned 332 crore rupees for MGNREGA and 25 crore rupees for TUEP so that the poor people can earn through work.
Those present in the programme were TTAADC CEM Purna Chandra Jamatia, TTAADC Chairman Jagadish Debbarma and other executive members of TTAADC, MDC Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma and other members of TTAADC, principal secretary of health J.K Sinha, TTAADC CEO Abhishek Chandra, NHM Mission Director Dr. Sidharth Shiv Jaiswal. A conference was also organised in the presence of the Chief Minister on this day in the hall of Kherengbar Community Health Centre.
