Tripura Joint Entrance Examination has been suspended and a final call on conducting Madhyamik and Higher Secondary would be taken after a meeting on June 15.
The Joint Entrance examination was scheduled to be held on June 23 next. New schedule will announced later on through website of Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination and through newspapers.
Meanwhile Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath presided over a meeting to take a call on conducting or cancelling Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) conducted Madhyamik And Higher Secondary exams. Later, the Minister said that the final decision on this issue would be taken on June 21 next.
Ratan Lal Nath chaired a meeting on Monday on the issue of holding TBSE board exams with 18 representatives including Executive Member (Education) of TTAADC, health officials and TBSE officials.
Later, Nath told the media, “In the meeting, the possibility of conducting the Board examinations was explored and discussed in details. All present in the meeting had agreed to one point that there was no alternative to the examinations. But the current situation does not suit to conduct the examinations.”
The Minister also pointed out there is no green signal from the Health department to conduct the examinations at the present situation.
In the meeting attending representative also held discussion on evaluation process in case exams could be held. In this connection, Ratan Lal Nath said, “Some of the attendees batted for the evaluation like the pattern of CBSE and other state boards”.
The Minister also pointed out that portal to receive opinions of guardians on holding Board exams would remain open till 6pm on June 15.
He added that Syllabus of Madhyamik and Higher Secondary exams had been slashed by 30 per cent keeping in mind the Covid pandemic situation.
“Taking into consideration all the aspects, a meeting to finalize the decision will take place on June 21 next,” Nath said on Monday.
