Tripura Government is making all-out efforts to roll out Covid19 vaccine smoothly and several committees were formed to ensure a successful vaccination drive across the State.
As per the directives of Centre, the Tripura government has geared up the preparations for carrying out COVID19 vaccination drive.
Briefing the media on this matter, State Education minister Ratanlal Nath said the state-level, district-level and block-level committees were already formed to monitor and conduct the vaccination drive.
“The Union Ministry of Health has allocated 1.92 lakh syringes of 0.5 ML and seven Ice Lined Refrigerators for Tripura,” Nath told the Media at civil secretariat on Tuesday.
According to Nath, the COVID19 pandemic is not over yet but the situation is under control—everyone needs to be aware.
Meanwhile, Nath also stated that as decided by the state government, disbursement of financial aid of Rs. 10 lakh to the families of each person who died of COVID19 had already commenced.
“An amount of Rs. 3.84 crore has already been allocated to the District Magistrates. And, the applications for receiving the financial assistance has to be submitted to the District Magistrates of their respective areas,” Nath said adding that the DMs would take an enquiry about the cause of death and the fund would be released in three instalments followed by verification of the applications.
The Education minister also claimed that the number of COVID19 deaths had decreased while the recovery rate registered a sharp increase (no 97.84 per cent).
He also said, “The Health department has decided to reduce the number of beds in various Covid Care Centres as the situation continues to improve.”
