Tripura-Janajati-welfare-scholarship"Of the total 35,665 students, Rs 13.7 crore in scholarships were distributed to 21,272 students by June 2024," said Pandey. This accounted for over 55% of the students. Scholarship disbursement resumed for the remaining 44% of students after the state received funds from the Central Government.

"From September 20, scholarship disbursement for the remaining students began, following the Ministry of Tribal Affairs' fund allocation on September 6," he informed the media.

Pandey explained that scholarships were distributed after completing mandatory procedures, reaching 86% of eligible students to date.

Of the remaining 14% of students—totaling 4,966—Pandey highlighted that 2,456 students are eligible but have not received their scholarships due to incomplete verification of bank accounts linked with their Aadhaar cards. "Payments for these students failed because of this issue," he noted. The state government has informed these students and urged them to complete the required Aadhaar-bank linkage.

"We extended the verification deadline, and out of the 2,456 students, 1,468 have now completed the process. Their scholarship disbursement is finalized, and they are expected to receive funds by next week," he said.

Regarding the 988 students who missed the extended verification deadline, Pandey mentioned that the department consulted with the central authorities and will provide a 15-day window for these students to complete the process.

However, Pandey also reported discrepancies in the documentation submitted by the remaining 2,510 students in this group, which has prevented them from receiving their scholarships.
