Hailing the upcoming Kidney transplant, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said, the Tripura government is prioritizing healthcare advancements, with the state's first-ever kidney transplant set for GB Hospital on the June 8, 2024.
The Chief Minister inaugurated a two-day training program on Saturday for dental surgeons, highlighting the government's focus on various medical fields.
Dr. Saha acknowledged the challenges faced earlier, but pointed to advancements like online consultations with patients and the introduction of sophisticated equipment at the state's dental college. He emphasized the importance of proper utilization of resources and lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's support for Tripura's development.
The Chief Minister addressed concerns raised about the dental college's faculty, assuring that proper procedures were followed. He also announced the upcoming establishment of another medical college in the state and ongoing efforts to attract investors.
Tripura's healthcare achievements include the launch of nine super-specialties at the Agartala Government Medical College Hospital, funded by a nearly Rs 180 crore investment.
Dr. Saha highlighted the significant Rs 202 crore allocation received under the Prime Minister's initiative for the dental college's development. This has allowed the college to offer BDS programs within the state and plans are underway to introduce MDS courses in the future. The dental college has also been commended for its infrastructure by the Dental Council of India's President.
The state aspires to make its dental college a frontrunner in the northeast, emphasizing innovation and improvement.
The Tripura government's commitment to healthcare extends to ensuring accessibility for all. The Jan Arogya Yojana, a health insurance scheme, has been implemented to address this need.
This news comes amidst the launch of the Tripura State Dental Council and Agartala Government Dental College & IGM websites. Additionally, Dr. Saha inaugurated a tele-consultation service for dental care through e-Sanjeevani.
These initiatives mark significant progress for Tripura's medical landscape, with the state offering advanced treatments, improved facilities, and accessible healthcare solutions for its citizens.
