Two PM Shri Sabroom School Students selected to represent Tripura in National TT event

Two students from PM Shri Sabroom Girls' Higher Secondary School, Pushpa Biswas and Sangita Das, have earned the opportunity to represent the state team in the national-level table tennis school competition.

The assistant headmaster, Ranjan Debnath, said this opportunity is the result of regular practice, hard work, and dedication. He further mentioned that the school's sports infrastructure has recently been renovated. Teachers are very happy with the success of these two students.

Headmaster Ranjan Debnath also stated that the success of these students is the result of the improvement in the school's sports infrastructure, and in the future, more students will be encouraged to participate in such competitions."

Notably, PM SHRI (PM ScHools for Rising India) is a centrally sponsored scheme that was approved by the Union Cabinet on September 2022.

The scheme will help showcase the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 and emerge as exemplary schools over a period of time. The scheme aims to establish more than 14,500 PM SHRI Schools across the country with comprehensive, dedicated, and inclusive interventions to promote holistic transformation at all levels, including equity, access, quality, and inclusion. Sabroom Higher Secondary School is one of those PM Shri Schools.

According to https://pmshrischools.education.gov.in/, more than 20 lakh students are expected to be the direct beneficiaries of the scheme. The scheme will also promote an understanding of various dimensions of the Quality of school education and inform Policy, Practice and Implementation. The learning from these schools will be scaled up to other schools in the country.

The Scheme is proposed to be implemented over a period of 5 years w.e.f. 2022-23 to 2026-27.
