Under-17 Subroto Mukherjee Cup: Tripura Sports School boys win against J-K School

In a thrilling match played under pouring rain, Tripura Sports School secured a resounding 3-0 victory over Jammu and Kashmir in the Under-17 Subroto Mukherjee Cup for Boys Football.

The match, held at the Tejash Ground in Delhi, saw Tripura Sports School dominate from the outset. Their attacking prowess was on full display as they relentlessly pressed the Jammu and Kashmir defence.

Khasrang Jamatia opened the scoring for Tripura in the early minutes of the match, giving his team a crucial lead. The momentum continued into the second half, with Bang Lal Ril Halam doubling the advantage before Pranjit Tripura sealed the deal with a third goal.

Coach Rajesh Ray Chowdhury expressed his delight at the team's performance. "It was a fantastic victory," he said. "The boys played with heart and determination. The conditions were challenging, but they never let it affect their game."

Earlier, Sports School had held the hosts, Delhi, to a goalless draw in their first match, but they lost to Maharashtra by a narrow margin on Tuesday. Tripura Sports School will now face Haryana in their final group stage match.

Despite the victory, the coach acknowledged the challenges posed by the back-to-back matches. "It's tough to play so many games in quick succession," he added. "But the boys are up to the challenge."
