Vikshit Bharat Sankalpa Yatra aims at reaching out to unreached people: MoS Pratima

The Vikshit Bharat Sankalpa Yatra gained significant momentum across Tripura. The financially weaker sections of society are displaying particular enthusiasm to learn about the welfare schemes of the central government. Various beneficiaries are availing themselves of government benefits through this 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra.' 

On the seventh day of the Yatra, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment of India Susri Pratima Bhoumik was present at Balaram Village in the Ambassa Block of Dhalai District. 

The campaign aims to build a developed India by 2047. A mobile IEC van and officials from various government departments were present to raise awareness among the general public about various public-facing projects and deliver them to beneficiaries. 

Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment of India Sushri Pratima Bhoumik handed over various facilities of the Central Government to the beneficiaries present. Certificates were also distributed to women who were delighted to receive gas connections under the Ujjala Yojana and to real beneficiaries of other schemes that were deprived for so long. As part of the Pradhan Mantri Matrubandana Yojana, the Union Minister offered sweets to expectant mothers. Additionally, a feeding program for small children was organized, and MoS Bhoumik celebrated the program by feeding the children. A free medical camp was set up for the villagers present. 

Prabir Debnath, a resident of Balaram Village Committee, received a house under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, a popular and people-oriented project of the central government. MoS Bhoumik inaugurated it by cutting the ribbon. Naturally, Prabir Debnath's family is happy to have a new house. 

"In the last six years, around 4 lakh Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana houses have been provided to marginalized residents of Tripura who dreamt of living in a pucca house one day. Prabir Debnath's family also received proper toilets and domesticated animals to support the family," said MoS Bhoumik. 

Apart from the Union Minister of State, Sabhadhipati of Dhalai District Anadi Sarkar, Additional District Magistrate of Dhalai District Biswajit Pal, and others were present at the event. The Union Minister of State visited several houses in the village area and learned about the government facilities that the people in the area have received. 

She said, 'Vikshit Bharat Sankalpa Yatra has commenced in 2 lakh 70 thousand villages. The main objective of this journey is to provide benefits that are not accessible to the people due to various reasons. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi officially launched the 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra' in Kunti district of Jharkhand on the occasion of 'Janjatiya Gaurav Divas' on November 15, 2023."
