June 13, 2018: The FIFA World Cup 2018 will be held in Russia from tomorrow to the 15th of next month. Hosts Russia will take on Saudi Arabia in the opening match tomorrow. Russia and Saudi Arabia are placed in Group-A. The game will take place in the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow at 6 p.m.(Indian Time). As tradition before the big kick-off, an elaborate opening ceremony is set to take place 30 minutes before the first game.
The Russian football community has made a fervent appeal to the game’s stakeholders, including the globetrotting fans, to shun negativity and get behind the country.
Meanwhile, inmates in an Argentine prison have begun a hunger strike to press authorities to repair the cable TV system so that they can watch the World Cup. Argentina face Iceland on Saturday in Moscow in their first match of the World Cup. (AIR News)
