Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visiti Assam today to dedicate the Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) at Lepetkata to the nation. The plant is the first ever petro-chemical project in the entire North-East. He will also dedicate India’s highest wax producing unit using indigenous technology in Numaligarh Refinery Limited to the nation.
Official sources said, Mr Modi will also address a public rally at Moran. Later, He will deliver an address at the Annual Conference of Srimanta Sankaradeva Sangha at Sibsagar. Quoting official sources, AIR correspondent reports that Mr. Modi will be the first Prime Minister to attend the annual conference of the Srimanta Sankardev Sangha in its 85 years history. All preparations have been made at Rupohi Pathar in Sivsagar to welcome the Prime Minister.
The officer bearers of the Sangha said that it has published over 200 books and journals as of now. Established in 1930, it has over 30 lakh members now. The organization is running an university and also 64 schools in different parts of Assam. The Prime Minister will inaugurate the 12th South Asian Games in Guwahati this evening.
On Saturday, the Prime Minister will attend the International Fleet Review at Visakhapatnam besides visiting a maritime exhibition. On Sunday, Mr. Modi will arrive in Bhubaneswar and dedicate to the nation the National Institute of Science Education and Research at Bhubaneswar. He will visit the Shri Jagannath Temple in Puri. In the afternoon, the Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation, the state of the art Indian Oil Refinery at Paradip. Security has been beefed up at Paradip IOCL Refinery and NISER and Puri ahead of Mr Modi’s visit to the State.
