Hindu Jagaran Manch protests in Udaipur in Tripura, demanding the arrest of two individuals for alleged derogatory remarks against Mata Tripureswari and PM Narendra Modi. The group vows to escalate agitation if police fail to act swiftly.
Agartala, April 26, 2025: Activists of the Hindu Jagaran Manch staged a strong protest in front of the RK Pur Police Station in Udaipur, under Tripura’s Gomati district, demanding the immediate arrest of two individuals who allegedly posted derogatory remarks on social media against Mata Tripureswari and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to the protestors, on April 25, 2025, a youth named Javed Hossain from Agartala posted offensive comments about Mata Tripureswari — a revered deity and one of the 51 sacred Shakti Peethas — on his social media account. The incident sparked widespread outrage among the Hindu community.
Condemning the act, Pritam Dutta, Gomati district convener of the Manch, filed a formal complaint at the RK Pur Police Station, demanding Hossain’s arrest within 24 hours for hurting religious sentiments.
In a separate case, another individual, Samid Mia of Udaipur, allegedly made provocative and disrespectful comments about Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Facebook. Responding to this, Dutta, on behalf of the Manch’s Gomati unit, filed another written complaint, similarly demanding Mia’s immediate arrest within 24 hours.
During the protest, Dutta and other activists warned that if swift police action was not taken against the accused, the Manch Members would escalate its agitation.

Saturday afternoon witnessed an intense gathering of the protestors at the police station, where they raised slogans condemning the derogatory posts.
Protestors also voiced strong sentiments against Pakistan and Bangladesh, chanting slogans and demanding that individuals who still harbor sympathies for Pakistan should return to that country.
The activists have vowed to continue their agitation if their demands are not met.
