ProMASS News Bureau: Aug 27, 2016: BJP President Amit Shah has asked party-ruled state Chief Ministers to make their states an effective instrument for execution of the Centre’s pro-poor and good governance agenda. Mr. Shah noted that the party rules over 51 per cent of the country’s landmass and 37 per cent population, and said states will play a key role in the success of the NDA government’s welfare policies as they are responsible for their implementation.
He was addressing the day-long meeting of the BJP-ruled state Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers and state presidents in New Delhi today. Mr Shah said, BJP has started an era of politics of performance in the country. Later, talking to media, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that BJP President has sought effective execution of central policies. Mr. Fadnavis said during the meeting, all the states made a presentation of their work and their future plan especially in the field of agriculture, woman empowerment and employment.
This is first such meeting since BJP came into power at the Centre in May 2014 and comes days after Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid out the party’s pro-poor and good governance agenda at a meeting of core committees of state units. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the valedictory session in the evening.
