December 18, 2017: In Jammu & Kashmir, an encounter has raged between militants and security forces in south Kashmir’s Batmuran area of Shopian district this evening.

State police chief S.P. Vaid confirmed that gunfight is going on in the area. Sources said that 2 to 3 militants are believed to be trapped in the cordon. More details are awaited. Earlier, security forces had launched Cordon and Search Operations in the area. (AIR News)
