Justice Kureshi to be new CJ of Tripura HC

Agartala, September 20, 2019: The Supreme Court Collegium led by CJ Ranjan Gogoi has recommended the elevation of Justice A A Kureshi as the Chief Justice of Tripura High Court, superseding the earlier proposal made on May 10 to elevate him as the CJ of Madhya Pradesh HC, reports said.

Justice Kureshi will replace Justice Sanjay Karol as the Chief Justice of Tripura.

Media reports also mentioned, in a resolution dated September 5 and published on September 20, the Collegium led by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi has now recommended to the government to appoint Justice Kureshi as the Chief Justice of Tripura High Court.

Justice Kureshi is the senior most judge from the Gujarat High Court. (Agencies)
