Agartala, September 14, 2019: Judiciary system is one of the main pillars of the Indian Constitution in a democratic setup. The State Government is working on ensuring that no one can cast an influence over the judiciary system. Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said this while inaugurating newly built District Court building of West Tripura Judicial District at Agartala. He said, “Every citizen of our country has the right to express his or her opinions – and that is why India is the world’s largest democratic country”. Detailing on importance of judiciary system in federal and democratic set up, Deb also said, model judicial is crucial for becoming a model state.
Shifting focus from judiciary system to development, the Chief Minister, “Tripura has less population but more natural resources. Nobody can stop its development”. He also announced, there will be services of 15-seat small aircraft for North-East to connect all the 8 states Agartala – Shillong- Aizawl- Imphal – Dimapur – Sikkim to develop tourism which in turn help attain prosperity.
Among others, Chief Justice Sanjay Karol, Justice Subhashish Talapatra of Tripura High Court, Advocate general Arun Kanti Bhoumik, Justice Arindam Lodh of Tripura High Court were present in the inaugural programme.
On this occasion, Chief Justice Sanjay Karol exuded confidence and said, rule of law has been established in the State Judiciary system. The State Judiciary system has worked in Mission mode in this connection. “I am feeling proud that persons associated with State judiciary system are working with honesty and sincerity to deliver justice to common people”. Chief Justice Karol also said initiatives had been taken during last 10 months to fill up the vacant posts in District Courts and High Court – total 21 judicial appointments were made during last 10 months. A separate court was set up in Agartala to deal with POCSO Act related cases. “Initiatives have been taken to set up museum to highlight history of State Judiciary system”, Justice Karol said.
