October 25, 2017: In a major initiative, Tripura government has set target to set up ITI in all 58 sub-divisions in phased manner to expand facilities of technical education, said Chief Minister Manik Sarkar. At the same time he lamented that number of unemployed youths is rising as scope jobs is shrinking.
“The government has taken such initiated so that the youths can get opportunity for employment in state and outside the state at the end of training (technical) courses in different ITIs. However, it is impossible to set up ITI in all sub-division at a time. However, State Government prepared initiatives to set up ITIs in all sub-divisions in phased manner.
Chief Minister Manik Sarkar today inaugurated 18th Industrial Training Institute (ITI) of the State at Longtharai Valley sub-division. With the financial assistance of Rural Development department, the ITI building has been set up at a cost of Rs. 12 crore at 82 miles area in Langtarai Valley sub-division.
Saying that the State government is committed to expand the education sector, he lamented over Central Government policies which he described as ‘anti-people’. He said, “Shut down in factories rendering people unemployed while farming sector facing tough situation jeopardizing the economy – all of this happening because of anti-people policies of the Central Government and number of unemployed is increasing.”
However, the Left Front government is relentlessly trying to implement several pro-people programmes across the state despite its limited financial capacity,” he added.
