BSNL North Eastern -1 Circle has earned 145 crore rupees as revenue for the year 2015-16.The BSNL Chief General Manager of North Eastern 1 Circle, K.K. Saxena told media person in Shillong yesterday that 1.99 lakhs mobile connections were provided to the BSNL customers of Meghalaya, 1.63 lakhs in Mizoram and 3.07 lakh connections in Tripura.
In Meghalaya 245 Nos 2G and 123 Nos 3G mobile towers are functioning he said. In the North Eastern 1 Circle, out of 8798 villages, 2657 villages are covered with BSNL mobile network service, he said. In the North Eastern 1 circle, 202 Exchanges are working of which 66 are in Meghalaya and 86 in Tripura and 50 in Mozoram he said. A total 66,000 land line connections are working in North Eastern 1 circle and 26,000 Broadband connections are working in North Eastern 1 Circle, he added.
