ProMASS News Bureau: Aug 25, 2016: In Tripura, CPI-M candidate Kumud Debbarma has defeated his nearest contestant Mangal Debbarma of IPFT by 582 votes in Simna-Tamakari Tripura Tribal Area Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) by-poll. Total number of electorate is 22,481 and women electorates marginally have outnumbered their male counterparts.
Basically, IPFT is an organisation of tribal communities which has raised separate State for Tribal people of Tripura. According to unconfirmed report, CPI-M candidate has secured more than 9200 votes while IPFT managed to bag around 8600 votes. The by-poll was held on Aug 23, 2016. Election was held in Simna-Tamakari ADC seat due to death of CPI-M member. Notably, Left Front is ruling TTAADC with a substantial majority.
