May 22, 2017: Both the CPIM and BJP today held press conference and slammed each other on various issues. While CPM exuded confidence of success in forthcoming Assembly polls, BJP termed CPIM as ‘anti-Indian’ Political party.

CPIM State Committee of Tripura today condemned indiscriminate lathi charge and firing tear gas shells on CPIM sponsored rally – ‘March to Nabanna’ in Kolkata. “CPIM Tripura State Committee vehemently condemns Police excesses on a peaceful today in Kolkata”, said Party State secretary Bijan Dhar addressing a press conference. He also criticized role of the Mamata-led TMC Govt in ‘suppressing’ democratic and peaceful agitation brutally.

Bijan Dhar delved into details on two-day CPIM state Committee meeting held on May 20-21 and said, the State Committee gives a call to all the frontal organizations as well as all party units of urban, rural and ADC areas to gear up and launch massive campaign for ensuing Assembly election. As part of the campaign 1000 car rallies (Gaari-Jatha) will be organized across the State.

Coomenting on prospect of Leftists in forthcoming Assembly Polls, Dhar said feedback collected from different levels of organization clearly indicates that CPIM will strom back into power defeating anti-left forces. “The 8th LF Government will be formed in Tripura after 2018 Assembly Polls”, Dhar stated confidently.

In the press Conference, Bijan Dhar also mentioned membership drive has resulted in increase in number of membership and said presently 94,259 persons renewed membership across the State.

State Committee secretary Bijan Dhar also criticised the Modi led Central Government for not fulfilling poll promises made during Lok Sabha election. Dhar specially slammed Modi Govt, among other issues, scuffling MNREGA fund.

In a separate press conference, BJP State president Biplab Deb called CPIM as an ‘Anti-In’ia’ political entity and condemned Leftists for not raising voice against Kulbhushan Yadav’s execution order by the Pakistan Government. “They opposed execution of Afjal Guru who was behind attack of Parliament, but did not mince a single word for saving Kulbhushan”, Deb stated.

On promises made by BJP, Biplab Deb said, his party never promised that two crore unemployed people will be provided with jobs. BJP always maintained that Modi-led Government would create job opportunities for self-employment. He also mentioned about Mudra Yojna but doubted that loan under the scheme have been taken away by CPIM cadres. Deb criticized the State Government for flouting MNREGA regulations.
