September 05, 2017 : This festive season has brought real cheers for casual labourers of forest department in Tripura. The State Cabinet today decided to regularize services of all the 363 casual workers of the Forest Department. Forest Minister of Tripura Naresh Jamatia informed this today in Agartala.

Recently casual workers held fast unto death agitation demanding regularization of their services. After obtaining assurance from the State Government agitating workers had withdrawn their agitation.
Quoting Finance Minister of Tripura Bhanu Lal Saha, sources said all the 363 casual workers will be absorbed as permanent employee and after five years they will start receiving regular pay scale.
Casual workers hailed the decision.
