Amidst corona gloom, Tripura youths including women shed lights of hope for revival with proposals for developing small scale sectors and entrepreneurial ventures.

Agartala, April 14, 2020: Amidst all round corona gloom, youths of Tripura – including womenfolk are showing tremendous guts and suggesting measures to be taken for recovering losses incurred due to lockdown and put  economy of the State back on track under present situation. In the face of menacing Covid19 scare, young men and women are exploring ways to pull out economy of the State ensuring overall development – this is certainly an encouraging and inspiring attitude, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said this today. He said, responding to his calls for sending suggestion to rebuild Tripura, around 6000 suggestions from youths as well as elders were received within a short time.

One youth from far-flung Laljhuri area in North Tripura district suggested developing small scale industries in the State while one woman from Gomati district talked about her plan to become self-employed. Many more such inspiring thoughts came up at a time when corona is raging through the world, the Chief Minister said and added, “With the blessings of Mata Tripureswari Devi and indomitable spirit of people of Tripura, we will be able to defeat corona”.

In this context, Deb also said that State Government has taken several plans like random testing to stop prevalence of the virus in the State. Meanwhile, Deb said that both the corona patient of the State are doing well and hoped that they would soon be able to go back to their families. He also said, in case of the first Covid19 patient, ‘test reports have come negative second consecutive time’.

Besides, the state government has decided to provide assistance of Rs. 1000 to a good number of identified Jhumias each in view of the lockdown. As many as 6979 hardcore Jhumias will receive the benefit. Besides, the government will also provide financial assistance of rupees 2000 to 700 flower growers in two installments.

Urging people to follow the lockdown norms and social distancing, Deb said that Administrative works to follow PM to Panchayat vision and implement schemes will resume strictly maintaining social distancing. He also pointed out that talks would be held with Bazaar Committees to open non-essential shops like garments shops on roaster basis and maintain social distancing.

He also said, as per the government decision all units processing food items and essential commodities, rubber processing units will resume functioning as they require continuous process. Deb, however, clearly mentioned that Government is formulating guidelines preventing spread of Covid19 for all those units which would be allowed to run during lockdown.

The Chief Minister also indicated that nursing students would be involved in the Corona care activities in the healthcare facilities with a token monthly payment.
