Ajay Choudhury of Rajasthan is Cycling through States to generate awareness on Road accident and importance of Road safety to avert road accident in India.
Agartala, December 02, 2019: A tragic road accident almost destroyed his family – he lost his wife and father while he and his son sustained grievous injuries. Crestfallen, yet not completely broken at sudden turn of events, he – Ajay Choudhury of Rajasthan mustered courage and decided to generate awareness on menace of road accident as well as importance of following road safety measures. He embarked on a countrywide cycle tour and reached Ambassa on Saturday.
Middle-aged Ajay Choudhury hails from Kota of Rajasthan and belongs to a low-income group. On a fateful day on February 20 last, Ajay Choudhury along with his family members – father, wife and son were traveling and met an
accident.
The accident shattered his life completely – his wife and father died in the accident.
Ajay Choudhury and his son suffered serious injuries – his son is yet to recover completely.
Fortunately, the heart wrenching accident could not dampen his spirit. While gathering confidence and overcoming the impact of irreparable loss, he planned to raise public awareness on road rage.
“I do not want a single person to fall victim to road accident – I can feel the pain. A little bit of alertness will help to curb the menace. No more deaths from road accident anywhere in the country”, Ajay Choudhury said.
To generate awareness on road safety, Ajay embarked on cycle tour from his native place on October 20. During
last 50 days, he had visited several areas of Kota, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West
Bengal, Assam. He reached Ambassa on Saturday and visit other areas of the State highlighting importance of
road safety. He is hopeful to meet Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb in Agartala.
“I have received lot of support and people encouraged me. Despite my personnel loss, encouraging words from common people are keeping me cycling and I hope to cycle 50,000 km with 2020”, Ajay Choudhury said.
