Agartala, April 4, 2020: Do you want to disinfect or sanitize private-own commercial properties in Agartala ? Pay Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) a fee with an application letter and get it done. However, AMC will continue to disinfect and sanitize public places free as usual. AMC told media in Agartala today.
In a press hand-out, it has been mentioned that AMC has decided to sanitize private commercial establishments including media offices on first come first serve basis on payment of prescribed charges and on availability of spray equipment’s. Charges have been fixed at Rs 1000 for this purpose.
However Yadav made it clear that daily disinfection drive in all public places, markets, ATMs. bus shelters. hospitals, petrol pumps, slums etc using 08-09 big vehicles along the wider roads will continue and are rendering the services since March 23 last. Moreover, 92 backpack spray machines have been pressed into services for narrower streets and inside wards. He pointed out that special arrangements for collection of household waste from COVID19 quarantine centres had been made following all disinfection guidelines.
Moreover, all paid public toilets in AMC area have been declared use for without paying any chanrges till April 30. Municipal tax counters have been shut during lockdown. However, online tax is being accepted AMC has decided to exempt any penalty or arrears on taxes which will be paid till June 30, 2020 for the FY 2019-20 Also for FY 2020-21 anyone who pays advance property tax till July 31, 2020 will get 10% rebate.
AMC is also stitching masks for its employees. The AMC commissioner said, AMC has decided to make 10000 cotton cloth double layer face masks following guidelines of Govt of India using women SHG members engaged with AMC. The work has already been commenced For each mask, the SHG women will be paid Rs 10 as stitching cost. After preparation the masks will be distributed to frontline workers of AMC, Police and Health Department. Besides, Yadav also mentioned about paying garbage collecting workers an incentive of Rs 1000 each. The AMC will also distribute dry ration free of cost to 2800 stranded migrant workers and others.
