Agartala, January 23, 2019: As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility ( CSR) ONGC ,  has given a financial support of Rupees 25 crore  ( Rupees Twenty Five crore ) for reconstruction of dysfunctional toilets for declaring Tripura state open defecation free (ODF)  to Jibandhara State  Water and Sanitation Mission.

ED- Asset Manager of ONGC Tripura Asset  Mr. G. K. Singha Roy and ED- Chief CSR  SSC Parthiban  handed over a cheque of Rupees Twenty Crore on behalf of ONGC  Trust Foundation to  Chief Minister  Biplab  Kr. Deb at his residence at Agartala – as the first installment of the project. The rest of five Crore would be given in due course.

ONGC Trust Foundation- a registered trust of ONGC,   has provided  the financial support  for the  project, which has to be  completed within a period of 12 months . The aid is going to Jibandhara State Water and Sanitation Mission, a registered trust located at office of Chief Engineer, PWD and Chief Secretary of Tripura being the ex-officio Chairman of the body.

The   Project would be jointly monitored by representative of ONGC Tripura Asset , Project Manager of ONGC foundation and authorized representative  of Government of Tripura. Principal Secretary, PWD , Government of Tripura  will be responsible for overall implementation of Monitoring of the Project .

It may be mentioned that ONGC has already given financial support for making  a state Open Defecation  Free (ODF). On 14th July,  Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura Jishnu Dev Varma  launch a project of making  400 numbers of Individual house hold  Latrines ( IHHL)  in Shipahijala District. Beside that other ODF related projects are also being taken up.

To make the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of making the country Open Defecation Free (ODF)  latest by 2nd October, 2019,    Tripura Govt  is taking all out efforts. State Govt. has always lauded ONGC for providing support in this noble endeavour. ONGC is appreciated by the Govt.  for taking up projects on inclusive and sustainable development in Tripura.

Especially,  ED-Asset Manager G.K. Singha Roy,  in his brief address said that as a part of  Swachha Bharat Mission envisioned by the Prime Minister,  ONGC Tripura Asset and other work centres have taken up several projects. He thanked Tripura Govt. under Chief Minister Biplab Deb for giving scope to ONGC to serve the state. He informed that several other projects like providing Water ATMs for safe drinking Water to four hospitals have been taken up by ONGC Tripura and in future, it would take other development projects too. He further added that, ONGC Tripura Asset has earmarked Rs. 7 Crore for CSR activities. However, money is no constraint for new beneficial project-proposals.
