Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb held a meeting with Israeli Ambassador to India Ron Malka and discussed mutual cooperation in several fields including security and water management.
Agartala, February 6, 2020 (IANS) Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Thursday held a meeting with Israeli Ambassador to India Ron Malka in New Delhi and discussed mutual cooperation in a variety of fields including security and surveillance systems, officials said. Deb also held meeting with the Railway Minister Piyush Goel today.
An official in the Tripura Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Agartala said that Deb discussed diverse potential areas of cooperation with the Israel Ambassador.
Meeting with Israel Ambassador
“The Chief Minister discussed about the joint cooperation on the areas of security and surveillance system, water management, agriculture, food processing, packaging, cold storage, technology transfer, tourism and culture,” the official added.
The official said the Israeli Ambassador expressed willingness to visit Tripura along with his team soon.
Deb, who became Chief Minister of Tripura around two years ago after the Bharatiya Janata Party thrashed the Left parties after 25 years, continued his efforts to boost the local economy by aiding the growth of agricultural, natural, mineral and human resources of Tripura and to establish their global market.
Meeting with Railway Minister
Besides, Chief Minister of Tripura Biplab Kumar Deb also met Union Railway Minister Piyush Goel today and held discussions to further improving railway services in the State. They also discussed about faster implementation of SEZ (Special Economic Zone) at Sabroom in South Tripura. He said that SEZ would boost the economy of the State.
Later in a Facebook post, Deb thanked the Union Railway Minister for ‘fruitful’ meeting. He wrote, ” … he (Piyush Goyel) agreed to the suggestion of Deoghar Express schedule modification, sanctioning of New DEMU racks and smooth functioning and attaching Green Bogie service for (transporting) fruits and vegetables in Kanchenjunga Express.
Green Bogie services would come as a boon both for traders and customers of the State.
Biplab Kumar Deb also met BJP National General Secretary B L Santosh in New Delhi today. Both held a meeting and discussed about strengthening party organization in Tripura. Deb also apprised B L Santosh of several pro-people measures taken by the BJP-IPFT government in Tripura.
