March 31, 2018: Tripura Natural Gas Company Limited (TNGCL) has revised the pricing of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) with effect from April 1 next. As per the revision, the price of CNG will be Rs. 41 per kg, PNG (household) Rs. 17.50 per unit and Rs. 22 per unit for PNG (commercial & industrial).
TNGCL is a joint venture of Gail (India) Limited, Government of Tripura and Government of Assam. It supplies PNG in and around the city and currently more than 34000 domestic households and 400+ commercial & small industrial units are using PNG.
TNGCL operates 6 CNG stations and currently dispenses CNG to over 12000 vehicles every day. A press release from the TNGCL mentioned, “In accordance with the Para 8 of the New Domestic Natural Gas Pricing Guidelines, PPAAC vide its letter dates March 28, 2018 to ONGC, Oil and DGH has notified the revised price to be applicable from April 1 to September 30, 2018 as US $3.06/BTUGCV.”
